Abstract

The research aims to prepare an educational program using mental imagery and apply it to third-year female students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Muthanna University. The researchers used the experimental method with a design of two equivalent groups, where the research community included (130) male and female students, and a sample of (49) female students was selected by lottery. The educational program was applied using mental imagery to the experimental group at a rate of one educational unit per week, in conjunction with college lectures. The researchers concluded the positive effect of the educational program in learning horizontal defense with the fencing sword. The researchers also recommended benefiting from the (educational) curriculum prepared by the researchers in performing basic skills in fencing for students.
