Comparative analysis of the biomechanical indicators of the straight front and back punches of national team boxers in the 64 kg weight class

Abstract
The importance of this research lies in employing biomechanical analysis to develop the technical performance of the front and back straight punches in boxing, given its role in improving the speed, power, and accuracy of execution among players. The research problem lies in the relative weakness in biomechanical indicators related to performance due to the lack of attention to mechanical aspects during training. The research aims to conduct a comparative analysis between the two punches to reveal differences in the basic kinetic variables. The researcher assumes the existence of statistically significant differences between the two punches in these indicators. The descriptive comparative method was adopted as it is suitable for the nature of the study. The research sample consisted of (6) boxers from the national team in the weight category (64 kg). The results showed the superiority of the back straight punch in variables related to power, such as displacement and joint angles, while the front punch was characterized by the speed of execution and the short execution time. The researcher concluded that the difference in the nature of the kinetic performance between the two punches necessitates special training for each according to its biomechanical characteristics. The research recommends that coaches pay attention to developing the biomechanical aspects, focusing on improving performance technique, and achieving a balance between speed and power in a way that contributes to raising the level of athletic achievement.
