The culture and awareness of health sciences and sports according to the academic level of students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Basra

Abstract

This research aims to develop and implement a sports health awareness culture scale for students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra. It also seeks to identify the nature of students' awareness and understanding of sports health sciences at different academic levels. The researchers employed a descriptive survey methodology, deemed most suitable for the study's requirements and the nature of the research problem. The study sample consisted of 300 students randomly selected from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra during the 2025-2026 academic year. The researchers concluded that the sports health awareness culture scale exhibited five levels within the sample. Therefore, they recommended the adoption of the scale they designed for assessing sports health awareness culture.
