Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of attention among scout leaders in secondary schools and to determine their level of possession of some scouting skills, as well as to examine the relationship between these two variables. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted the descriptive method using both survey and correlational approaches. The research sample consisted of scout leaders working in secondary schools in the center of Basra Governorate and was selected intentionally.

The researcher constructed two scales to measure the variables of the study. The first scale was designed to measure attention, while the second scale measured some scouting skills among scout leaders. The validity and reliability of the two scales were verified.

The results indicated that the level of attention among scout leaders was at a moderate level, while the level of their scouting skills was generally good among most participants. The findings also revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between attention and scouting skills. This indicates that scout leaders with higher levels of attention are more capable of organizing scouting activities and effectively managing scout teams within the school.

These results highlight the importance of developing attention skills among scout leaders, as they play an important role in improving their performance in scouting skills and enhancing the effectiveness of scouting activities in schools.
