The effect of specific exercises on a sandy surface in developing explosive ability and some skills of young football goalkeepers

Abstract
The research aimed to identify the effect of specific exercises on a sandy floor in developing explosive ability and some skills of young goalkeepers in football. The researcher followed the experimental approach by designing a single individual group with pre- and post-measurement. The sample was selected from the research community represented by advanced goalkeepers in some Baghdad clubs with a number of (30) goalkeepers. In light of the results, the researcher came out with several conclusions, including that the research sample showed a great superiority in the post-tests in explosive ability and the skills of catching aerial balls and catching or deflecting side balls among young goalkeepers (research sample). Accordingly, the researcher recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: Emphasizing the use of the specific exercises method on a sandy floor as a training method that affects physical and skill abilities during the special preparation stage for young goalkeepers in football.
